Umbilical cord blood stem cells have been used successfully for various blood disorders and cancers since 1988. The area of stem cell research is expanding dramatically and is one of the most exciting fields of medicine in the 21st century. The extensive list of diseases that can be potentially treated is expanding.

Current research has shown that these cells can potentially be used to treat spinal cord injuries (regeneration of neural tissue) and heart disease (regeneration of myocardial muscle cells). Although these potential treatment options are presently still in the research stage, we at Cells for Life strongly believe that the application of these technologies will be in routine clinical practice in the future.

A large part of your commitment to storing your child’s stem cells is centered on research-based medicine. Yet, all the evidence collected to date, suggests that stem cell therapies will be the basis of routine clinical practice for years to come.
